VOTE  LIFE!

Job 31:15) [NIV] Did not he who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same one form us both within our mothers? 

NOTE: Job was explaining to his “friends” that the Lord would have a right to rise up against him if he thought he was better than others, including his servants.

QUESTION: What can we learn from this?

ANSWER: God expects us to treat others fairly because the same God that made us made them.

QUESTION: What else can we learn from this?

ANSWER: God made us who we are “in the womb.”

Psalm 22:9-10) [NIV] Yet you brought me out of the womb; you made me trust in you even at my mother’s breast.

10) [NIV] From birth I was cast upon you; from my mother’s womb you have been my God.

Psalm 22:1) [KJV] My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? [why art thou so] far from helping me, [and from] the words of my roaring?

NOTE: This is a Messianic Psalm. This is the cry of Jesus from the cross.

QUESTION: What can we learn from this?

ANSWER: God had been His God from the time He was in the womb.

Psalm 139:13-16) [NIV] For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

14) [NIV] I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

15) [NIV] My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

16) [NIV] your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

QUESTION: What can we learn from this?

ANSWER: It was God at work, Who “knit me together in my mother’s womb.”

QUESTION: What is verse 14 telling us?

ANSWER: The knitting “together in my mother’s womb” was the beginning of God causing me to be “fearfully and wonderfully made.”

QUESTION: What does verse 16 tell us?

ANSWER: God make His plans for me before I left the womb.

NOTE: We can argue about when life begins, at conception or at birth, but God sees us alive in the womb.

Isaiah 44:2) [NIV] This is what the LORD says—he who made you, who formed you in the womb, and who will help you: Do not be afraid, O Jacob, my servant, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.

QUESTION: Where were we when God made us and formed us?

ANSWER: God did these things while we were in our mother’s womb.

Isaiah 46:3-4) [NIV] Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all you who remain of the house of Israel, you whom I have upheld since you were conceived, and have carried since your birth.

4) [NIV] Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

QUESTION: How long has God been looking out for you?

ANSWER: God has watched over you “since you were conceived.”

NOTE: God will see us through our entire lives, from the time we were conceived till the time we grow old and die.

Isaiah 49:5) [NIV] And now the LORD says—he who formed me in the womb to be his servant to bring Jacob back to him and gather Israel to himself, for I am honored in the eyes of the LORD and my God has been my strength.

NOTE: This passage refers to the Messiah Who will restore Israel. Jehovah God has had an eternal relationship with His Son, the Lord Jesus. Yet, in this passage, and for our benefit, it speaks of God forming Him in the womb.

QUESTION: What is this verse telling us?

ANSWER: God forms us in the womb to fit His purpose for us.

Jeremiah 1:4-5) [NIV] The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

5) [NIV] “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” 

QUESTION: What is this verse telling us?

ANSWER: God has had an eternal purpose for each of us, and He formed us in the womb to fit that purpose, just as He did for Jeremiah.

Luke 1:41-42, 44) [NIV] When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.

42) [NIV] In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!

44) [NIV] As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.” 

QUESTION: What is this verse telling us?

ANSWER: John, the Baptist, the baby in the womb of Elizabeth, leaped for joy when he heard Elizabeth’s voice.

NOTE: This passage shows us how God sees the fetus as a baby. John was already a person, already a baby, before he was born.

Why Should Christians Vote?

Psalm 33:12) Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD. Blessed are the people he has chosen as his own.

John Adams: “We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

Patrick Henry: “It cannot be emphasized too clearly and too often that this nation was founded, not be religionists, but by Christians; not on religion, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason, peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

John Jay: [One of our founding fathers and the fist Chief Justice of the Supreme Court] “Providence has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as the privilege and interest of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”

Grover Cleveland: “The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics, or the Lore will curse them…God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take right ground. Politics are a part of religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as a part of their duty to God.”
